Ice sculptures, food trucks, a beer garden and the NHL’s Stanley Cup are coming to downtown Worcester this weekend for a day of winter fun.

The Mercantile Center is hosting its first WinterFest, which will run from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at 100 Front St. in downtown Worcester. The free event will also feature live music, interactive games and face painting.

“WinterFest is the latest addition to our year-round programming in downtown Worcester,” Charles “Chip” Norton, managing director of Mercantile Center, said in a statement. “We are pleased to present this free, fun, family event featuring the Stanley Cup at Mercantile Center, and to be a sponsor of Railers’ Game that evening.”

Fans can have their photos taken with the Stanley Cup beginning at 4:30 p.m. The iconic trophy is returning to Worcester for the first time in 10 years.

After WinterFest, the Stanley Cup will be on display in the DCU Center concourse from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The Worcester Railers will host the Norfolk Admirals at 7:05 p.m.
